Venue: individual classrooms of 10-30 students
This series of workshops use multi-modal activities to help enhance social and emotional learning skills identified by CASEL including self-awareness, self-management, relationship, and conflict resolution.
Through this program, students learn...
- Qualities that help them achieve personal and academic goals
- How to manage stress and difficult emotions
- How to make friends and build a strong community
- Healthy ways to resolve conflicts
- An indoor space
- Basic classroom supply such as pencils, erasers, colors (crayons, markers, or colored pencils).
Workshop 1: Achieving Your Goals
Students learn four qualities that help them achieve personal and academic goals: perseverance, responsibility, focus, and recognizing personal strengths. Students will also learn the importance of asking for help when needed.
Workshop 2: Calming the Storms
Students learn how to manage stress, anger, and sadness by using mindfulness activities. We will explore the importance of remaining calm amidst the storm, and how to apply mindfulness practices into daily life.
Workshop 3: Stronger Together
Students learn how the stronger your community is, the stronger you are. Explore how diversity and inclusivity strengthen their classroom community and beyond.
Workshop 4: Conflict Resolution
Students learn what causes conflict and how having healthy methods to resolve conflict can help improve relationships and community health.
